LBSU destroys the Gauchos 67 - 47

The Long Beach State 49ers overwhelmed the UCSB Men's basketball team 67 - 47 in a Big West match up at the Pyramid. The preseason favorite 49ers (8 - 9, 2 - 2) broke open a tight game in the second half, forcing the Gauchos (8 - 7, 3 - 2) into committing a season-high 29 turnovers. Orlando Johnson led an anemic Gaucho offense with 12 points, while Jaime Serna contributed seven rebounds.

LBSU was led by TJ Robinson's 19 points, followed by Casper Ware's 13 points. Robinson also led all players with 12 rebounds. The suffocating 49er defense limited the Gauchos to shooting 21.4% from the field in the second half, 32.7% for the game. At the other end, the 49ers shot 51.9% from the field in the decisive second half, 45.0% for the game.

But defense is how LBSU dominated the Gauchos in the second half.
