This is another non-basketball-related event, but it's too prominent to not mention here. UCSB 800-meter runner Ryan Martin won the Big West outdoor championship in his event. That is an impressive achievement by itself, but what makes it more remarkable is he won in a time of 1:45:34, which is the second best time in the NCAA this year. Even more remarkable, he beat the runner with the best time so far this year, Charles Jock of UCI. Here's a video of the race.
