Mitch Brewe's face told the story.

The Seattle Prep senior had a bloody bandage on his lower lip — he caught a shoe to the face during a fall and his tooth punched through — and gauze stuffed up his nose.

But he was smiling. He wouldn't let a little pain — he needed stitches — get in the way of celebrating Seattle Prep's 61-56 win over top-ranked Rainier Beach in the Sea-King 3A District title game Saturday at Bellevue College.

Brewe is leading the league with 23.1 points per game. He has been absolutely dominant in the low post. Along with this, he has extended his range considerably and can consistently hit from 15 feet out. The scholarship offers will start rolling in once he gets more exposure during the playoffs and the spring AAU circuit.
